Michael has been natural building since 2002.  He was drawn to timber framing in 2014 working for a company, then volunteered at a Timber Framers Guild workshop that opened him up to the community aspect of this old world style of architecture.

He tends his family's land in Silverton where there is a saw mill for timber framing and creating with local material.

Jim DeSantis has been timber framing since 1990 and is a lifetime member of the Timber Framers Guild (TFG). Joining the guild in 1997 was a turning point in his life. While apprenticing and learning the craft, he made time to volunteer on a TFG community project every year.  Projects took him across the US , Canada, and to S. America. He credits these experiences as providing the education and motivation needed to start Silver Creek Timberworks in 2006.Learn more about Jim or reach out to him directly here.

We look forward to building together!
