Why Natural Building?
Sustainability, efficiency, conservation and beauty: a few reasons why "green" or natural building is optimal. Timber framing is a time-tested architecture that aims to enhance the natural beauty of the landscape with its exposed timbers, natural edges and use of locally and sustainably sourced material. The structural integrity of this "post and beam" building style does not require as many interior walls to support the frame, which lends itself to open spaces that in turn promote community. The aesthetic elegance is evident, and the result promotes personal and ecological health. We're grateful for many affiliates doing similar good work including the Timber Framers Guild and others.
